Below is a YouTube version of "Elephants Dream", a computer animated short movie made with the open source software Blender 3D. Since I joined IMVU, I learned that 3DS Max is the main software currently used by the animation industry. However, for po' folks like myself, 3DS Max is not very affordable. Isn't it amazing that a group of po' folks made free software that we can use to make our own animation? The movie below represents to me proof that people can do anything they set their minds to do. Please take a little time to watch it, if you haven't already seen it.
(Thank you, JazzKat, for telling me about this. . . .)

In the movie, "The Making of Elephants Dream" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tyai_Y3woc0)the creators make references to another free program called the GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/). In my mind, it's the next best thing to GraphicConverter (created by Thorsten Lemke) in that it's a darn good graphics editor. Again, I have to thank the buddies I've made here at IMVU for telling me about the GIMP.
I found this lovely website on a Friday afternoon on July 28, 2006 and fell completely in love. If you can remember the old chatspaces called MUDs and MOOs, then you'll understand why this space reminds me so much of those wonderful places. Why? Because unlike ICQ, IRC, and MySpace. . . people here can actually create things. Make your own shirts, make yourself into a turtle, or recreate your entire house. Heck, if you really had the time and skills, you could recreate a miniature town. The best part about it all, is that it's interactive enough to let users play with object-oriented inheritance.
People here have created a separate world, complete with currency. It's a fascinating microcosm of Darwinism.
Okay, I'm done rambling.
My interests: Aside from working, I love to sail. I always love to create. And if I could, I would create a place to sail here at IMVU!
I don't understand a word of the video below, but the animation is wonderful!
My Wish List
STOP! HOLD IT! This is my derivation wish list. . . .
This list is full of bookmarks of some developers and their products that I find really amazing, and may want to derive from in the future.
To those who have already bought me something, thank you so much! That is very very sweet! You did happen to buy something that I did actually 'want' (in addition to wanting to derive from it).

P.S. If you have time, check out these developers. Who in the world would have thought to make a mesh of a 'pregnant belly'?!!?!?!? And the Evil Mouse Thing just cracks me up!
